Biography

John was born about 1908. He was the son of Alfred Wright and Eliza Wood. He passed away about 1957.

Bill was buried at Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Thomas Simmons Lawn, Row X Grave 41, on 20/08/1957. His mother Eliza, was buried with him on 01/11/1965.

According to other family research, Bill was initially a hat block maker in Little Collins St Melb. and also did carpentry work making cupboards and eventually building houses. He built his mother Eliza's house in Ferntree Gully Road Oakleigh and his niece, Gwen Lindsey's house in Clayton.

Bill joined the Army Reserve but never went to war. In later years he became a volunteer fireman. It was here that he met his partner Ruby.
